Health Exclusion Policy
 

A CHILD MUST BE KEPT OUT OF DAYCARE IF HE/SHE HAS:

  • Temperature of 38.2
  • If the eyes are reddish and/or have a yellow discharge
  • Rashes which have not been diagnosed by physician.(Doctors note required)
  • Diarrhoea
  • Vomiting
  • Severe cold with fever, sneezes and nose discharge
  • Contagious diseases, i.e., chicken pox, mumps, rosella, red or German measles.(Doctor's note required)
  • If a child seems sick without any obvious symptoms: In this case a child may look and act differently, there may be unusual paleness, irritability, unusual tiredness or lack of interest in daily activity.
  • Lice

To safeguard the health of all children, a staff member has the right to exclude a child from the daycare due to sickness. If parent wishes to alter this decision, the staff will abide by the doctor's note.

If a child becomes ill while at the daycare, the parent(s) will be contacted and required to take the child home. If the parent(s) is not available, the emergency contact will be notified. In more severe cases, the daycare staff will accompany the child to the hospital.
